I have learned in life that sometimes the simplest things bring the greatest joy. One does not have to spend money to enjoy the simple things in life. I am learning this from my grand daughter, Mia.
A handful of Cheerios can give her such a large smile. A swing at the park can get her so excited!… and me, too. Watching re-runs of Sesame Street is such a joy. Weren’t we like little children before? Why have we lost our innocence and the twinkle in our eyes?
Here is what I am learning. Our lives rush by and if we do not stop to enjoy life’s sweet moments, they will slip away. So, I am determined to make it my goal and to remind myself regularly to spend quality time with my loved ones. I will sit down, listen and enjoy the laughs of my family. I will seek to find how to make loved ones and friends smile. Yes, simple things in life can make all the difference. One does not have to spend money to be happy.
Here is a video clip I enjoy. For the moment, just forget about all the political turmoil, the pain and suffering going on. My friends, there is joy in the world.
