O LORD my God, You are very great; . . .You who laid the foundations of the earth (Psalm 104:1,5).
Jesus did not come to make God’s love possible. He came to make God’s love visible.
Yet, God’s love did not begin at the cross in Calvary. The Bible tells us that before the foundation of the whole universe, before the stars and planets were formed, before birds flew and the fish swam, God spoke this whole cosmos into existence. Before it was without form and void, there was total silence and darkness. But God’s love shone in brilliance and glory, his angels singing. The whole universe including humanity came to being.
God is love. Past, present and future. Before the worlds were created, He knew all about us and our need for love and salvation. Because God does not change—and neither does His love. He loved you and I before we were born . . .He loves you now . . . and He will love you forever. Now, that is something to smile about!
