Time. Each of us is given exactly the same 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Yet, we know that each of us is given different number of years in our lifetime. Some live close to a hundred. Others live for less than 20 years.
In this life, we don’t have unlimited time. I have been meditating about this (and probably, you too). The thought came to me that it is possible that our lives might indeed be the only Gospel some will ever be exposed to in this life. I understand that this is a sobering comment but some people we meet may not have much time left. Since God’s love is for all humanity and his mission for us is to share the good news of Jesus Christ – it is very possible that God gives us divine appointments with people who desperately need to hear and see the gospel. You maybe God’s messenger in proclaiming His love. You may be the only one that a certain person will listen to.
This means that every day God’s Spirit moves our spirit to sense the opportunities in helping lead people away from their fears, doubts, loneliness and guilt towards the true Light, Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). God also encourages us “Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted (Isaiah 12:4).
As we thank God for the gift of life through his son Jesus and as we grow in relationship with Him, God so desires that others may also hear the great news of what Jesus Christ has done on the cross. Let’s take each day as a gift from God and share the Life of Jesus in us to people God sends on our way.
By the way, this good news that we share and proclaim tells people that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that through Him, we have eternal life. There is more to this limited time we have. In Christ it is unlimited. Now, that is great news!
